How long have you been doing what you do and how did you get to be an expert in guiding business leaders and managers so they are clear, confident and effective in all areas of their professional lives? 

To answer this question well, it is probably good to go back to a place in my personal and business life that was not only a defining time, but a leap of faith as well.  It is the story that brought me to where I am today, coaching and mentoring business people just like you to be able to master their business issues with clarity, confidence and effectiveness. 

That defining time happened in 1986 when I opened my business with credit cards, no business plan, no brand or niche and with all the hope in the world that I would be a millionaire in a short period of time.  I had just gotten divorced and was lucky to have physical custody of my beautiful and precious little girls.  We moved to a tiny house in the same town.  I set up up my home office with a desk, an ancient computer and some very snazzy business cards and stationery. 

I started making money and finding clients easily because I was personable, friendly, loved to network and talk on the phone.  Here is what I didn't do well:

  • Create a long term strategic marketing plan for getting and keeping clients

  • Be clear about what I could do for people

  • Seek help on a regular basis from highly successful business owners

  • Follow up with prospects in a timely way

  • Use my time well when I was working 14 hours a day

  • Keep my business receipts in any sort of logical order

I sought help from experts when I desperate, scared, and confused which was most of the time because I had few systems and very limited knowledge outside of being great with people.   

What helped me to become a successful coach, consultant, speaker and author of five books was when I took the time to analyze my own business habits, the good, the bad and the downright ugly!  This analysis helped me to understand my behavior around running my business and how I could better provide high value and sustainable results for my clients, readers and audience participants.   

Today I have a virtual team of business masters to include a lawyer, a business manager, several administrative assistants, a technology guru, an insurance expert, a tax/accounting genius and my own business coach.  This team I've assembled is there to help me at any moment systematically and with a guaranteed outcome for success.  It took me years to trust anyone to take at look at my poor business habits.  Now it is funny to think about needing to know it all and acting like I was an expert at every facet of business.  I was not and am not today.  However, I am a master at coaching business leaders, owners and managers how to create business excellence and peak performance by doing the following:

  • Analyzing their wants/needs in order to create highly defined goals/outcomes
  • Getting them clear about what is most important to them and their business
  • Providing the methods and support for increasing their confidence and influence there by increasing their profits
  • Designing and implementing their customized system for being highly productive and effective in all areas of their business and life   

Once I “got” what it took to run my business well and with excellence I made a commitment to dedicate the rest of my professional life to helping business professionals, leaders, owners and managers to assess and utilize their own unique talents and strengths.  I think it is fascinating that once you make a commitment to what you will be doing and do it well, the perfect prospects and clients just show up for help.

For what type of professional is this program NOT going to work? 

Let me very clear here that we are very selective about who we work with.  We pick our clients carefully and chose to gently turn away people who are not suited for our programs and will not get the results they would have signed up for.  (We want to be fair for people to get the results they deserve.) 

The Business Mastery Coaching System is not for people who have no money or who are desperate for money – at least not at this time.  It is our experience that those that are desperate for their dollars have a difficult time executing the system because they are completely consumed with where their next dollars will be coming from for their car or mortgage payments.

Can you tell us exactly how the Business Mastery Coaching System works and what it includes: 

The Business Mastery Coaching System is for business leaders and managers who want a step by step implementation and coaching system for getting clear, getting confident and being effective in all areas of their business. 

1. Discover Your Talents and Strengths

In this step we discover your talents and strengths with an assessment and intake form.  We then debrief both of these for your understanding.   This is a highly impactful first step that really allows you to view your potential and your personal talents and strengths, maybe for the first time in your life.

2. Design and Develop Your WIMI

In this step we design and develop the outcomes you will be working on with your coach during your six month coaching engagement.  We do this using our WIMI strategy i.e. discussing what is most important to you to accomplish in the next 6 months and for the long term.  Maybe for the first time in your life you will be designing and developing your strategies as a confident and talented professional.    

3. Strategize the Priority and Measurement of Your Outcomes/Goals

In this step we discuss how to best tackle your outcomes/goals based on what you want to accomplish and your time frame for completing your outcomes/goals.  In this step we also develop the basis for which we will measure your progress in achieving your desired outcomes.  You also become the master of accountability in this step.  You will learn to do what you say you will do on time and with excellence.   

4. Focus and Course Correct

This is where the real work begins! Through your coaching calls, role playing, weekly homework and email journals, we focus on your outcomes/goals and accomplishing them systematically.  This is also where we use the basis of measurement developed together in step #3 to course correct your outcomes/goals to ensure that you are being held accountable for what you say you are going to do and what you want to accomplish i.e. what is most important to you…(WIMI).  You will also learn the communication model to shift you to absolute clarity in all of your communication.  

5. Review, Discuss and Refine

In this step we take time to refine, review and plan.  This is done on a monthly basis with your coach.  We take time to review, discuss and refine your coaching outcomes.  This is really a place to brainstorm and ask the question “what if…?”.  This allows you the space to really discover what’s most important to you based on where you are at in the coaching process.  You will be amazed at how truly smart and talented you are.

6. Make it Real for You

In this step we take a look at our last 6 months together.  It is an evaluation of where you were when you began and how clear, confident and effective you are today.  This is a discussion of how your coach can continue to be a resource to you beyond your 6 months of coaching.  Is there another outcome that has become what is most important to you?  In this step we help you make “it” real for you and give you the keys to continuing your learnings, new habits and behaviors.  This is all about being accountable to yourself and the life you have created.
