You are receiving this on Wednesday 8/20/08. That means there are exactly 11 days until "summer" is over. Doesn't that sound so sad?

Well, lets change that feeling to something positive. You can have that summertime feeling at any moment. The summertime feeling feels free and easy. Warm and loose. Relaxed and fun. I think it would be really smart for all of us to keep the summertime feeling . or at least have easy access to the feeling ... whenever the days seem just too jammed to relax.

I guess we could fill our office with beach sand to help us remember, but I think an easier way to keep the feeling close is to remember you have control over your feelings at every moment. Take control and declare that you are the boss of your attitude. Watch out, it can be contagious.

I am off to cut out some pictures of favorite moments and I am going to stick them on my bulletin board right next to my desk. Don't be surprised if you hear me humming beach music in January.

Do you how to be a influential leader in business and communication? How many times have you seen an influential person get recognized for their success? Did thoughts go through your mind that you wish you could be like them? As business people, we need to learn how to be influential in both business and communication. The following are tips that will guide you in the process to learning how to be an influential in many of the business situations you encounter.

Tip #1: Become An Trusted Expert in Your Field
Your clients rely on you for advice or for your service because of your credibility. In order to gain influence, you will want everyone you run into to perceive you as being an expert in your field. You will also need to trust that they can rely on you for your expertise. Make sure you are able to provide both.

Tip #2: Learn To Overcome Your Fear of Public Speaking
Overcoming your fear of public speaking is hard at first. The best way to do this is by speaking on what you are comfortable speaking on. Use your life experiences (stories) to relay a your message to your audience. People will stay tuned in to what you are speaking about. Furthermore, remember always that everyone has some degree of fear when it comes to speaking in public. That fear decreases once you get used to speaking in front of an audience.

Tip #3: Surround Yourself with Successful People
Start participating in social group setting and professional organizations. By doing so, you will be able to surround yourself with other influential people that will set good examples for you. Invest in yourself and hire a business coach or mentor to assist you in becoming an influential and trusted.

These are only a few tips to get you started on the right path to being more influential in business and communication. It is critical that you understand that you have the talent to create your roadmap to be influential and trusted in business. Once you have determined that you can succeed, you will succeed!

I was complaining that the reception on my radio in the office was really staticky. I love listening to the radio for the variety, but the static was driving me crazy. If you don't like the song that is being played you can vote it out of the play list. The coolest thing is that I end up hearing music that I've never heard before or haven't heard for a really long time!
