September's Attitude
Getting ready to learn - going back to school. Isn't funny how when we are "finally" done with school, each September in the USA we still feel the urge to get ready for the first day of school; homecoming; studying; meeting new friends; going into the next grade. There were times when I felt like, "Am I ever going to get to be a senior so I can graduate?"
Have some fun with this back to school feeling. Maybe you need to
revisit your 2008 goals; make a new schedule for networking or update
your Linked In page. Instead of having it be your "to do" list,
have it be an anticipation list of what is coming and what
you can create
We are doing the same here at NMA. Some may say that August is a slow business month for them. My team and I have been busy bees preparing for this fall. We have a brand new program that we will be announcing in September. It is going to blow the socks off your current way of leading and training with your teams and organizations. We developed this program because our successful clients asked us to. This program has been designed just for you!
There is a certain fragrance that goes along with September in the USA...chilly air, raking fall leaves and the harvest. The sweet anticipation of so many new opportunities. Enjoy!
Love and blessings,

By Natalie R. Manor
Anticipating Your Best Results.
Vision, goals, to do list, technical reading, networking, training, strategic plans and implementation of all that.
Do not do the overwhelm dance on your way to success. In fact, I forbid you to get overwhelmed with all that needs to be done. What you need to do first is find the joy in the doing.
If you have a long list of stuff to do and there is little or no joy; contentment; pride; value in the doing of it, what is the point? Anyone can be a crabby "doing" machine. In fact, crabby with an attitude seems to be the new norm.
Yes, I do admit we have lots to do and with seemingly less time to do it all in. What it is exactly you are doing? What is the value of it? What will it accomplish once it is done? Finally, how are you doing it?
Lets look at your least favorite "to do" on that list. Think about it. Get into the attitude that you are in when you approach it. I bet you are stressed, annoyed and reluctant to complete it for the 17th zillionth time.
What if you changed your complete demeanor about completing what it is you need to do?
What if you approached the project, budget and/or report with a new you? What if you decided that you were going to get rid of the attitude and just complete the "thing"?
In all the thousands of pages of reading I have done about human behavior and self development, there is only one thing you can control in your life and that is your attitude...the way you feel at any given time. It is the only control we have.
You cannot control any other person or situation no matter how hard you try. You cannot change time or the weather. There is no way you can control the outcome of any situation...you can only control what you feel.
So what if you changed the way you feel about the negative things
in your life and decided that you would be joyful, grateful, delighted,
happy, proud etc. about whatever is going on in your life right
now.
It requires a deep breath (maybe even a thousand deep breaths), removing your need to be right (that ego thing that is so powerful) and a way of allowing the moment to produce whatever it is going to produce and you being just fine with the results. No anger. No disappointment. No judgment.
Righteous indignation is highly overrated and deepens our stress reactions. Just skip it and try a neutral way of being.
In fact, I challenge you to try this for an entire day and see what a difference it will immediately make in how you operate.
What I know from my coaching and consulting clients is that at first they do not believe it is possible to not react negatively. Then they don't want to give up their reactions because the change is scary and feels like they lose control - at the very least they don't get to be right. Their next observation, if they are being honest, is the difference it makes in the quality of the interaction with themselves and others. The final comment is that they would like to produce this kind of interaction all of the time.
Your challenge this week is to practice a "can do" attitude with yourself and everyone you meet. Imagine that each and every outcome, whatever it is, is ok. No anger, no judgment, and no "you are right"...just ease on through and observe what is really happening.
I promise you an astounding week!

Have you heard of FreeCycle?
Here is a group of thousands of people who are working together to make sure that their "stuff" ends up in good hands and out of the dumps.
I joined this group in TN just two weeks ago and have gotten at least 10 ideas of how to recycle my "stuff" to other people who found it wonderful and useful. www.freecycle.org
The FreeCycle group I joined is fun and has some very interesting things to give and share.
Only caution. If you decide to sign up, check the box for the "digest version" or you will be receiving many emails a day.
