From Distress to De-Stress to Success!
By: Natalie R. Manor, CEO
Ok, I have now read 140 emails and articles about the fate of the world as we know it and none of it is good news.
I sure hope this does not sound like a lecture, but you have to get to the place where you can breath deeply, trust your situation and make plans to make changes if necessary so you can withstand the onslaught of the “negative” news.
Not much positive can happen for you if you are afraid, confused, angry and lost. In fact, before the global debacle, being afraid, confused, angry and lost did not ever allow you to build your roadmap to success with a clear mind and high creativity. You need to be de-stressed and think clearly now more than ever.
There are only a couple of ways of removing the stress from your clouded mind, body and intellect. Although there are hundreds of techniques and methods you can use to get you there.
Four of sure fire ways to de-stress are:
- Find Love in all that surrounds you
- Create Peace in your world
- Remember to take Deep Breaths often
- Have Trust and Faith that there is great opportunity in times of great crisis
“Ok Natalie, this is a professional development newsletter about creating goals and outcomes to help me be confident, influential, solidly successful and to produce the results that are sustainable. What’s with this love, creating peace, breath and trust and faith stuff?”
Good question. Actually, I don’t believe that much in the way of high value success has ever been accomplished without these.
And maybe I should be writing more about love, creating peace, breathing, trust and faith instead of success techniques – although what success can you have without these?
Allow me please…
There is not one flower in my garden that is worried about the world crisis. My flowers are just doing their thing. Wiggling when I water them, enjoying the sun and getting ready to shed their leaves and hibernate for the TN winter. The silly bunnies that eat my garden (along with the blasted squirrels) are still around being soft and eating all my stuff. They run when I remind them to scat, but otherwise they are unconcerned with their world.
The blue jays are still hogging all the water in the bird bath and screech at everything that moves. My huge oak tree continues to provide me with shade and enough raking to fill my compost bin to the brim for next year’s garden.
Now please understand that I am not saying that we should be just like the animals and plants in my yard, but they do have a unique lesson for us. They go with the flow and whatever the storm, they weather it. They peacefully do their thing. They breathe easily and continuously while they are being/doing what they do without regard to the crisis of the world.
Remember this: We do not come into this world with worry or fear. The act of worrying and being afraid are learned behaviors. You have a choice whether you participate or not in worry and fear.
I do not love what is going on in the world or the fear that it is producing. I do love that I can control – with some effort – my reactions to what I think might be some good steps to take to take care of me, my business, my property, my family, my little piece of the world and you.
What can you do to take care of yourself?
You may have some steps to take. You need to fall in love with you, breath deeply, create steps that will allow you to feel peaceful, trusting and have faith in you to not only survive, but thrive during this time.
