Profits,
Confident Revenue and Creating High-Value Relationships
By: Natalie R.
Manor, CEO
Our phone is ringing off
the hook with people asking for help in honing their
business skills to create success and profits.
I can absolutely guarantee
you success in creating confidence and successfully
producing profits if you do the following items, without
fail, all of the time, no excuses. In fact, it cannot
fail. But you must follow it to the “T” - 24/7.
- Know what you do well and tell
everyone. Make sure that the service or product
brings value and provides success for those that
purchase or use it. Develop a joyful confidence
in your strengths and talents and share them every
minute, with all people. Advertise your strengths
and talents. Share them.
- Hone your communication and relationship
skills to the point that you are always clear and
people trust you implicitly. Make sure that all
people lean in to listen to you when you open your
mouth to speak. Tell the truth. Be the truth.
- Get enough sleep to keep you in
tip top psychological shape and provide you with
a reservoir of self confidence. That is between
7-9 hours of sleep a night. Less is not what the
body wants or needs. Just because you can get by
on less, does not mean it is good for you or enough.
- Exercise everyday using cardio
for your heart, stretching for your muscles and
meditation for your soul and cosmic connection.
You might even decide that you want to add prayer
to that “exercise” program of yours. Did you know
that they can now measure the improvement of sick
people who have had people pray for them – even
from hundreds of miles away? Think of the power
of that…use it for you and for the world.
- Eat well and with the best nutrition
you can find for yourself. For every meal, be conscious
of what you put into your body and make sure it
is of the highest nutritional value.
- Contribute your time to something
that needs your talents, for free, with soul and
joy and do it with the long term in mind. Change
a life
- Remove all judgments for all people
at every chance you get. Just remove them, whether
they are a different color or sound different, or
have a radically different belief system or just
plain do not agree with you and your philosophy.
Give yourself and them a break. Do not judge anyone.
- Find a sleeping baby or a puppy
and just hold them. I can attest to the power of
a dashhound puppy being able to slow you right down
and make you feel the good in the world.
- Forgive your mom, dad, brother, sister, the President,
the terrorists, the banks, the newspaper kid that
never gets the morning paper on the porch, that
*&^%$# neighbor that annoys you to pieces. Forgive
them. Then start the non-judging thing with them.
You will feel new.
Well, ok, so this is not
what you expected to hear. You thought I was going to
give you loads tips, techniques and strategies about
leadership and honing your success skills. And I did.
I spoke to a gal this week
who just finished a $6.5 million dollar capital campaign.
She raised more dollars than the non-profit had ever
raised…reached her goals…wowed the community and is
just plain annoyed at the entire world. She is one of
the most effective leaders I’ve met in years. Clear,
organized, talented and mad as heck.
Another HR executive called
me to complain about her CEO who was not participating
at an effective enough level for her in the business
of developing their strategies and succession plan.
The guy could do not right. However, in the last two
years he had grown the company 25%; they are making
money with a huge backlog in orders and the employees
pay $36.00 a year for their TOTAL healthcare cost. She
is completely out of relationship with her boss and
finger pointing with it set on stun.
A CEO of a major financial
institution is about to reach $1 billion in revenue
and is frustrated as heck with two of his senior managers.
Seems they did not provide a needed report in time and
he is spewing and sputtering. The institution is solid;
they are clear leaders in their financial world; the
senior management is excited and proud of their work.
And the CEO is sputtering like a bad engine.
That is only 3 of the calls
we got this past week.
I asked each one why they
were annoyed. Many reasons came out that could have
easily been explanations, but the truth in each case
is that these leaders are just plain tired; no exercise;
no good nutrition; little time to think only do; annoyed
at the world; and all of them had stopped giving their
time and energy because they had run out of time.
I share with you what I
shared with them. Their habits of how they operate on
a daily basis are suffering because they are not supporting
themselves in the best way possible.
I received a call from
the CEO Monday morning and he said that he took his
weekend to look at his habits of self-care and self-thinking
and they were pretty bad. So we are putting together
a 6-month “habit changing plan” so he can bounce during
his day instead of splat.
We talk about our world
and the chaos. I suggest that maybe your habits are
contributing to your chaos. Or, better yet, “are your
habits contributing to your chaos and lack of resiliency?”
Confidence, ease, health,
joy, success can be yours easily. Remember the guarantee
above? Print it out and paste it on your mirror, appointment
book or inside your outlook calendar.
How are you habitually
guaranteeing your success?
- Self-Discipline:
You must be able to do what needs to be done without
a boss standing over you. You must be your own boss
and provide for your own accountability. (I can help
with that.)
- Organizational Skills:
You must be able to work in an orderly way. Chaos
will always be an obstacle to growth and success.
- Patience: You
must be able to wait for results and have realistic
expectations. (For example, developing relationships
with new prospects takes time.)
