Concerned
and Worried About You

I am concerned about you.
And a bit worried.
There are very
few of you that are...
-
Getting enough sleep
-
Fueling
your bodies well during the day
-
Finding some time alone to just breath
-
Letting the “stuff” go for a few hours a day
-
Handling your email communication easily
-
Filled with joy and energy
You know who you are. When
we are on a coaching call talking about a $40 million
deal and I ask you how you are doing, you evade. You
know I am going to ask you about your nutrition, sleep,
joy, success and maybe even your personal life.
There is lots of talk in
the news about a financial and world recovery, but are
you ready to move out of your rut? When the recovery
arrives – whatever that really means – are you ready
for success, increased opportunities or new products
and services that will "wow" the prospects?
Let me be very direct.
Some of you are smiling because you know that I will
be anyway.
The human body is a very
sensitive organism. Many times we kick it around, weigh
it down and wear it out and, yet, it bounces back for
us. How many times have you worked late, used all
the energy you had and then some? Your body just kept
on cranking. Your body did not fail you. Whether
you were feeding it or not. Too much coffee? It worked.
Too many Dr. Peppers? It helped to eliminate all the
sugar. Too many cigars? The lungs cleared it up for
you.
However, do listen here.
The healthiest of you is beginning to show wear and
tear with the habits you have formed. Everything is cumulative and will
circle back to you eventually. It could even be worse. Your
body could just stop working the way it has done all
your life.
I am not talking about
being stiff in the morning because you are aging a bit.
I am not talking about
needing glasses because you are a little far sighted.
I am talking about your
body failing
to respond and being healthy. You have one body and
you need to be able to trust it to carry you to the
goal. But it also needs to be able to trust you to care
for it and feed it in such a way that it will
make it to the successes you have worked for and dreamed
about – with energy to spare.
So here is the good news
and the bad news. The bad news is that You are NOT exempt
from the rules of good health. Sleep, nutrition, relaxation,
joy, exercise, proud actions, contribution, and deep
satisfaction.
The good news is that your
body, mind and spirit are the most forgiving.
They will respond to you with the changes you make...even
the little changes will make a difference.
So here are three
changes you can make right now with
little or no effort except to do it:
-
Increase your water consumption
– decrease your artificial liquids
-
Increase your sleep – decrease
your worrying
-
Increase your breathing
capacity and reduce your stress instantly by
breathing
deeply many times a day
That’s it.
I think if you take a minute
to think about this, you will notice that you have areas
that would benefit from these three suggestions. And
these three simple changes are something that you and
your body will appreciate and RESPOND TO.
I have suggested these
changes to CEOs, Medical Directors, Executive VPs, Sales
Directors, COOs, HR professionals, and many others.
Don’t think for one minute that these people are exempt
from bad habits. We are all susceptible to slipping
into habits that do not serve us. We are all so
busy that bad habits may seem easier.
Do take a look and see
what you see. Then begin to shift into the habits that
will fuel you and support you. I promise that even the
little changes will significantly improve the quality
of how you are spending your days and nights.
